Carl’s Jr. Restaurant in Kelowna was the first of its kind in Canada for this United States based burger restaurant chain. The goal was to take a long standing, deteriorating business on a high-profile site and transform it into a vibrant, fresh new business. This was achieved successfully by not only adapting the American Franchise design to meet Canadian Building Codes and regulations, but by the re-use of structural elements thereby reducing waste produced in the demolition process. The restaurant is located on Highway 97 and borders the downtown core.
